Friday, April 8, 2011 - Wow. Shocked at how much I like this very young wine, especially considering I've never been a fan of the highly rated "The Prisoner". Nose was a little muted but evidenced some black fruit, tobacco and a little graphite. Wine exploded on taste - bursting with strong dark fruit. Some plum, cedar, blackberry and a little black cherry. Very lengthy, but does leave a bit of heat on the finish. I would expect this to mellow given a couple years in cellar, or after an hour decant. If you like B-I-G big Napa cabs, you'll enjoy this quite a bit at the sub-$30 price point. Reminds me a bit of Caymus for how drinkable it is this young.
