Monday, April 25, 2011 - (Open for one glass. Tasted two days later after re-cork.) Opaque red with purplish hue at rim. Hugely expressive nose of super-ripe blackberry, raspberry, a hint of strawberry. Has a good hint of menthol which prevents it from being completely over the top. Huge ripe dark fruit on the attack through the mid. Blackberry, blueberry, deliciousness for days. Good hit of mocha pops up on mid, follows through with a dark chocolate note on the finish.Good ripe tannin and adequate acid that underlines this is no run-of-the-mill cali cab. Very delicious without being cloying. Resolves to beautiful finish of ripe dark fruit with grip of solid ripe tannin. Has the stuffing to age for a little bit, but this is pretty darn delicious right now. Big thumbs up; this is an excellent cab made in the riper style.
