85 Points

Monday, May 16, 2011 - 50ml tasting bottle, consumed day of arrival with best-by date of 9/12/11. Purplish garnet red, sort of weak nose with notes of olive, plum, and a slight bit of violet. On the palate, medium-(-) body with a cool attack of sage and blackcurrant and blackberry developing into oak and spice on the midpalate, with medium acidity and virtually no tannin, with a relatively short finish of oak spice and black cherry. Food friendly, with relatively good acidity. Love the herbaceousness but this wine has neither power nor elegance.
