Sunday, July 3, 2011 - Top shoulder fill. Cork in fair condition, removed in large pieces. Allowed to breathe in bottle for 45 minutes, then decanted gently and served immediately. Slightly hazy medium brick red. Initial mustiness subsided to reveal classic old bouquet of exposed mud flats, dried red currants, mushrooms, and underbrush. Similar on the palate, smooth and mellow. Classic old Bordeaux.
