Thursday, July 7, 2011 - Immediate smell of barnyard, dried cowshit and sulfur. Could almost be mistaken for brett. Quite rich, lots of minerals. Improves immensely with air as the sulfur fades. Still not as potent as one would expect for a 05 Weil GG. Possibly slightly shut down. On the palate it is a bit low on acidity, but this improves with air. After a while in the glass it is stunning. Long, balanced and concentrated. Great wine that needs more time. In a way it is almost to "perfectly" made, and it lacks some of the wow factor of the Boxler it was compared against. But still great, and a fantastic flight with the 04 Boxler.
