Tuesday, August 16, 2011 - Dark maroon. Clear all the way through. Slow ox'd a couple of hours and the let it breathe in glasses. At first, the nose showed some red cherry sharing space with some oaky vanilla. This eventually blew off/integrated and the nose really showed off the red fruit. Full bodied, this has suprising high acidity and shows tart red fruit with just a hint of green pepper. Silky tannins show that this has a bit of structure to match the intensity of the fruit. Great length. Very good bottle of wine.
