Thursday, September 1, 2011 - No detailed notes. Opened, and originally this came across as a bit muddy/gamey to me, which it seems I often get from younger St. Emilion wines. Surprisingly, I pulled the remaining half a bottle from the fridge days later, and on Day 5 this is performing better than when it was opened. Brighter, more obvious cherry/fruit notes, more complexity and balance all the way around, with a distinctive brightness that wasn't present at the pop. If I had more of these, I probably wouldn't be in a rush to drink them (WA "drink by" of 2012 notwithstanding).
