Monday, September 5, 2011 - Decanted. Initial smell and initial taste were very one-note (fruit) and closed. Let it sit for an hour and returned. Taste was much deeper, with a solid fruit flavor, but balanced well with a spicy finish and good acid. Hints of minerals were present, but the wine was not extremely complex. Somewhat hot, but not overpowering, and it decreased over time. Paired very well with spicy, dry-rubbed pork ribs. I'm glad I've got more bottles.
