Sunday, October 9, 2011 - From 75cl, decanted 1 hour. Pongy cork, but wine seems unaffected. (On opening: bad-tempered, dustbin-juice smell; biting entry). Distinct orange at rim. Gorgeous mature Médoc scent (a cedar-wood box lined with dark crimson velvet, containing a single, perfectly ripe, dark red fruit). Taste not quite so good. Slightly bitter, tannic entry; good sweetness on the mid-palate; grippy, over-mature, plummy, tannic finish. Fine match with tender braised beef. (Of course it was better two years ago: drink up). 88P
