Friday, November 11, 2011 - This wine, as all the wines in the tasting, had a good four hours with the bottle open before we started to taste. There was dark fruit, game and pepper on the nose with a touch of herbal and floral in the background. The palate followed suit and added some smokiness. This wine showed very well and won wine of the night for the group and was my top wine of the night, as well. I did not get any heat at all tonight. This might account for the fact that the parts seemed to really be coming together and not competing for me on this night.
