Thursday, December 7, 2006 - Initially really closed, with nothing but minerals. That opens into a briary, earthy aroma with some plums and blueberries. Nice structure, surprisingly with some soft but noticeable tannins for a 92% zinfandel blend (8% petite sirah). An elegant style, as opposed to a lot of the current zins out there. Medium, pleasant finish. I would drink this up over the next couple of years, as I don't think it's going anywhere, but is quite good now.
