Niels brought this wine and I immediately recognized that I had been drinking this in his house a few years ago. The fruit is exuberant here, but it is exuberant in the good way - pure, kirschy Grenache. It is truly striking how elegant and mineral this wine is. In many ways it reminds me of the 2006 Rayas Pignan - light, elegant, earthy, almost Burgundian in style. Monsieur Avril has done a great job in this warm vintage, bravo. Very enjoyable now, but will surely last for another decade plus with ease. With Niels and AD at home.
