Saturday, December 9, 2006 - Seattle Tasting Group 'End of Year Dinner' #4 (Sammamish, WA): This started out with a slightly fishy smell that morphed into a briny note of seawater. There was minerality as well, and the longer this sat in the glass the more it seems like a white Burg with a crackling mineral intensity. Mmm, I love the palate, powerful, with lots of citrus oil and mineral. Tremendous grip. Even tasting blind, this was unmistakable Dom and an easy guess. Also clearly much more civilized and lighter in scale than the intense 1996. Still lots of life ahead in this bottle.
