2005 Château Leret-Monpezat Cahors

Community Tasting Note

Sunday, April 29, 2012 - Very dark and dense red colour. On the nose: Notes of ripe, dark berries - blackberries and blackcurrant, meat, blood and minerals, and a hint of oak. Full mouth feel, taste as promised by the nose, feels soft and round, but the finish is dry and long with lots of tannins still. We had it with filet of elk from the charcoal grill. All taste elements matched wonderfully, but the wine was almost too tannic with this lean meat.
