Saturday, June 2, 2012 - PnP. Very full bodied, very dark purple, an almost black color. Opens with tons of smokey black currant, black cherry, coffee, some faint mint, floral notes and a slight hint of oak. Very rich, mouth coating, and flavorful smokey blackberries, cherries and licorice, underpinned with vanilla flavors. Long, long finish that lingers for what seems to be an eternity. The addition and influence of the Syrah is what makes this wine so unique. May not appeal to some. Great red meat wine.
