95 Points

Monday, June 4, 2012 - Had this bottle In a blind tasting with Beringer private reserve and Chalk hill estate red 2007. This was the clear winner. The nose was a bit muted compared to the other wines. However, decanted over two hours and the very dark fruit, touch of oak and impressive structure/complexity was just starting to reveal itself. The finish lingered for several minutes with smooth tannins coating the tongue. This wine is just a baby and will age beautifully. I have had the 2006,2007 and 2008, this may be the best of the bunch despite Parker's lower review of this vintage. Thrilled that I have several more bottles to explore in the future. CVV delivers once again.
