89 Points

Friday, June 29, 2012 - Appearance: Bright and clear, medium (+) ruby in colour, with pinkish rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium intensity and developing aromas of black cherry, forest floor, raisin, prune, cloves, raspberry and gamey.
Palate: Dry, with medium (-) but still lively acidity. Medium tannin of ripe and velvety texture, the wine is of medium alcohol and medium (+) bodied, with medium intensity flavors of plum, black cherry, ripe raspberry, slight pepper and blackberry, finishing with a medium length.
Conclusion: Good quality Burgundy grand cru, having strong and intense tannin. Fairly full body with a warming alcohol, the ripeness of the grapes can be readily felt. Good complexity on the nose, with fair intensity, the palate is pretty one dimensional on fruit or intense but still enjoyable. A sweet sensation, the wine finishes with a reasonable length. Ready to drink now though can benefit from ageing of another 4-6 years.
