Sunday, September 16, 2012 - Decanted and poured, this wine required time in the decanter to show its best; however, unlike a bottle tasted in December of 2011, on this occasion the wine becomes more expressive and balanced with airing. Based on this showing, the wine seems to have shed some of its stern character with the still prominent tannins better balanced by the fruit component on the finish. At this stage, the wine gives the impression that it will benefit from another year or two of bottle age.
