95 Points

Thursday, November 15, 2012 - Five Decades of Lynch Bages with Richard Brazier (Handford Wines, London): Another consistently great left bank 1996 9this is the 4th time we try this wine) ! Quite a bit f browning in colour, looks a lot older than 96. Ever the classical nose and what a beautiful nose. Light earth, dark fruit, cedar, mint. On the palate it is solid, with good fruit, vibrant, good soft tannin, complex and in perfect balance. Simply superb 94-95. Came second on the night behind the majesty of the 85
Much like with the 1996 horizontal we have been to a month or so ago, and we documented in CT, 1996 is a stunner of a year and what great Bordeaux is all about.
