Saturday, November 17, 2012 - Really dark red. On the nose it starts a bit closed, then it reveals a very nice clean earthy smell leaves (imagine walking in the woods in the fall just after rain), rose and tar. Exellent. On the palate: Starts smooth, in the middle it opens up with a complex set of red berries, tar and hint of dark chocolate. Tannic and big aftertaste, maybe too big - ideally it should have been more elegant. I doubt that tannins will intergrate further. That is: Ready to drink now. Big Barolo, great, but not outstanding.
