90 Points

Thursday, February 8, 2007 - Winestreet Tasting of Mostly Rhones (Delas Freres, La Vieille Julienne, Bosquet des Papes and others): Deep red color. Appears extremely youthful. The nose is a reserved but enticing blend of garrigue and dark fruit. Brooding. On the palate this has good fruit but presents a distracting hotness on the mid-palate. This is still fairly tannic but the alcohol/hotness kept this from being balanced. The finish is a little clipped. I really enjoyed this wine but it could be so much more if the mid-palate and finish were a little better. I think it's a stretch to think this will improve with additional time in the bottle. Tasted from Magnum.
