Monday, December 31, 2012 - Very dark /black color; strained through Vinturi into decanter. A brooding beast of a wine. Extremely smooth and rich flavors permeate the nose. The palate seems to be composed of tart black fruit, cola, plum, blackberry. It tasted like blackberry, creme de cassis, forest floor, cedar, could certainly age a lot longer. I would say it likely will be another two years at least before I open another. Easily could age another 5-7 years before it comes into its own. Just extremely good now but will be outstanding once in the ideal drinking window. Typical Dunn Howell Mountain wine in that it needs more time than others to develop into the powerhouse it will become.
