Saturday, February 16, 2013 - Decanted; sampled over 3 hours.
Very interesting warm bouquet in the first hour - plum and honey cake; hard to pin down - hint of leather, spice; earthy and herbal notes. Doesn't work without food at this stage. Probably needs to breath a little longer. Dry finish.
Gradually mellows; approachable after 1.5 - 2 hours.
It takes 3 hours to mellow which I wouldn't mind except the bouquet is not nearly as intense as it was in the first hour. I find this 2 hour lag is slightly problematic; keeps me from scoring higher.

Actually got the best results on the second day. Half the bottle was stored in a sealed smaller bottle with very little (only air exposure was during the pouring process). It was consumed on the second day following 30 min breathing.

I don't think it's ready. Try again 2015-2016.
Needs careful decanting.
