Friday, March 29, 2013 - Nice red color with no significant signs of age. Penetrating nose of blackberry, currant with a whiff of something sweet like banana cream pie. Elegant, still some tannins but nice soft fruit. Drying out a bit on the finish but still drinking pretty well. Perhaps (and not surprisingly) past its prime as I remember a richer fruit palate in the past. (Yet the color is still red and beautiful.) Almost 30 years in it has definitely stood the test of time. I do think this would make for an interesting side-by-side with some of the '85 Bordeaux!
