94 Points

Friday, March 29, 2013 - Pop/pour. Unsurprisingly, this is too young, but the potential is evident. A powerful wine, but not a "fruit bomb" sort of way. Aromatic on the nose - dark fruits without the overt sweetness that many modern Napa Cabs display. More delicate and restrained in that regard.

On the palate, great raw materials that are years away from integrating. Great fruit depth, moderate acidity, and tannins that while not mouth-drying, are quite evident. The balance seems to be there for longer term aging. Probably 91-92 points for current consumption, but my score reflects a belief that there is a significant upside to this with 5+ years. If this turns out the way I think it might, my 94 pts on potential could be conservative.

Not as immediately gratifying as something like Continuum or Scarecrow from the same vintages. Somewhat more traditionally styled. While this would show poorly today against more forward Cabs from the same vintage, I think that 10 years down the road, this could steal the show.
