Sunday, May 12, 2013 - Served after Rich's graduation. No formal notes. Incredible, opulent, wonderful Napa Red. Everyone loved it.

5/12/2013 6:46:00 PM - I do not regret buying 4 bottles of this. I regret not going in for more. I did get 2 of the Insignia, but could have passed on so many of the more expensive Napa wines. I just was so impressed by this when I had it around New Years day. It reminded me of the Chateau St. Pierre from St. Julien which is dark red fruits and cocoa, in vintages '08-'10. I haven't purchased any but the '08 as the Eloge will be more approachable sooner without a shutdown period. I kinda wish I bought '09 ACV really has upped there game and is by far one of the better values in Napa, considering what some real no name start ups try starting at. These folks do wines. Maybe the profit on other stuff, but don't forget that wine is what they will be remembered for.

5/13/2013 4:43:00 AM - Champagneinhand: I am totally with you on ACVV. I have written 27 CT tasting notes on ACVV wines, including several on the '06 Eloge. This was my first bottle of the '07. It in incredible and is drinking so well right now. In a couple of years, the oak might be a bit more integrated. Otherwise, I can't think of anything that could improve this wine.
