Tuesday, August 17, 2010 - Deep garnet.
Mature nose with intense aromas of black forest fruit, loads of cedar, ink, licorice, dried tomatoes and saltiness. Even hints of ...iodine. Nice fine texture on the palate, still tannic with bitter finish. Fine wine but not what I'd expect from a first growth, slightly off aromas of tomato, saltiness and iodine would be welcome by another wine but not from Lafite.
