Sunday, August 4, 2013 - Decanted for 2 hours before consuming. This had a lot of oak on the nose and although I enjoyed it, it didn't quite display the complexity of the previous time I had it. Oak was a little overpowering and kind of masked the fruit to a degree. Still a very nice wine but had high expectations from the previous time.

8/8/2013 6:36:00 PM - It may be moving to a more subdued wine, but should re-open nicely. This was probably the best wine for the money from 2007. I only bought 4 and one is gone. I wish I had been smart enough to buy a case and pass on some of the pricier wines like Insignia. Time will tell if that was a decent purchase. I also was able to buy BV GdL for $50/bottle, and did grab a case. Need to open one in about a year. Thanks so much for the notes. Sorry for the disappointment. You did save me from popping another bottle, at least in the near future, for that I thank you. Hopefully you have more or have access to others.

8/9/2013 6:27:00 AM - I have 3 more bottles which I will probably wait a while until popping another one. Got 6 of the Estate Cab for $40 but they have been so tasty for the money that I have already drank 4 of them! I got 4 bottles of the Insignia as well but I was able to try it before buying it and really enjoyed it. I have had a few older bottles of Insignia and they are always excellent so I'm glad I got these. Nice score on the GDL. I picked up a few bottles of the Tapestry from 06/07 for like $25 and they are really nice wines for the money.
