Saturday, April 28, 2007 - Very good to excellent wine. Dry Reisling with a lot of tart apple, some lychee nuts and other white fruits, with a bit of citrus flower. Noticeable minerality and moderate but not strong acid. Moderate finish. Very light in color, but I've decided you can't really judge color in a restaurant because the lights are always iffy. So far I've had Alsatian, German and Burgundy whites from 2005 along with a barrel sample of a 2005 St. Emillion. This vintage may be all it's cracked up to be.

Bought off the wine list at Koo, a Japanese restaurant in Rye. Only $32, and it's nice to get a good wine off a list at that price. I also recommend the restaurant. Good sushi and good cooked fish for those (my wife) who would never eat raw fish.
