93 Points

Saturday, August 24, 2013 - Decanted for 1.5 hrs but really only needs 30 minutes. Well secondary and classic. Bricking colour. The nose is full of earthy, tobacco and leather notes open and beautiful. The good news is that on the palate the fruit is quite alive and firm and adds a great second layer of complexity ( unlike the beautiful 89 Gruaud Larosse we tried side by side, Papies 93). A magnificent wine pure, elegant and at probably its peak now and should stay here for a few more years. 93

You're my main source of knowledge about this wine. Really appreciated your TNs.
Little worry if after a decantation of 1.5 hours, better 30 minutes I know, you're considering this is peaking. I'm a 96 believer...but I don't want to waste it.
Still thinking my only bottle is for next 2021... Have I chance my mind?
Always a pleasure to exchange comments with you
    Cheers from Spain,

That been said we have a few more so we can experiment. if we had to choose we would say earlier than later to be honest. In general we are big fans of 1996 and this (along with pontet canet) are among the earlier blooming wines. Enjoy!
