Monday, September 23, 2013 - Iconic wine soiree, 1st quartet round, 4th meeting (at Yagil's): -- double decanted for sediment removal 4 hours before tasting --
(there was lot of hard big solid sediment chinks)
This wine is very good on its own though still young. Some of us thought it was better than the 1998 Mouton Rothschild and the 1997 Lafleur!!!
Needs at least another 5 years before it may enter its prime drinking window. But already very enjoyable. So hold!!!. Stunning wine.
Notes of graphite, earthy crushed rocks, and ample black fruits. Wonderfully structured on the palate, with firm and ripe tannins, good acidity and focus, great balance and depth. Great long enjoyable aftertaste.
