90 Points

Friday, May 25, 2007 - Pleasing black cherry color. Complex nose of oak, red and blue berries, bing cherry, cinnamon, tobacco, chalk, menthol and garrigue. Good balance, with nice acidity and alcohol, glycerin, and fine but very firm tannins. Long and sweet, grapey finish. Didn't hold up very long in the glass, though. Very drinkable now. Impressively complex but subtle, not a powerful or super-ripe style. I'd be inclined to drink this wine relatively young, within a few years, as it may grow too thin and earthy as the tannins fade. A good wine, but a bit over-rated for the price.
