This had that something too, but a lot of it. Now I know what 'the funk' means and it's not that disco song that I have stuck in my head now. Da funk = meaty and a bit raw, earth, briar patch, with a bit of black fruit. The first night was a bit much (though I couldn't keep my nose out of it), the second night that funk had toned down a bit and I could really enjoy the wine. That said - for me - this needs a little more time on it's side. What a great wine.
