Tuesday, November 26, 2013 - Seductive nose with blackcurrent and spice; good color. Nicely balanced on the palate, tannins still a bit astringent upon opening, but softened fairly quickly. Oak is prominent. Not overly fruity, but enough fruit to offset the underlying earthiness. Good mouthfeel, almost chewy. Not quite as rich as the 2008, but this may just need another year or two in the bottle. One of the very best California Cabs I have found in the $15 - $20 price range. Really quite nice.
