92 Points

Saturday, October 5, 2013 - This pours dark, opaque purple with just a hint of garnet on the edges. Nose is intensely aromatic at first, of raspberries, but blows off a bit after some air time. This is extraordinarily thick for Burgundy: there are significant legs and the feel is velvety, almost grainy. There are very ripe raspberry and even blackberry flavors in here that evolve towards the mushroomy and bloody towards the very end. The tannins are soft but become evident after a couple of glasses. Overall, this is a powerful, ripe wine that could almost be mistaken by a Cali Pinot if it wasn't for its mineral finish. Blind, I would have said California.
