The fruit tasted to me darker in tone, what I called black raspberry and balck cherry hard candy. The color was quite dark too. If this had been poured blind, I would have not think to attribute the wine to Joe. Maybe a day of air would have changed the tone of the wine, although that dark color, I have to think that this wine is simply more rich and while not the 2004, it's not what I think of as Arcadian.

12/22/2013 8:02:00 AM - Similar to what I experience one year ago. I'm wondering if you think time will help. I said 'yes' last year, but I'm not so sure.

12/22/2013 8:27:00 AM - Thanks for the note, Thomas. I admittedly don't drink lot of older wines but at now over 10 years, I don't see what time would do in benefit of what's already there. I'm going to have the chance soon to taste a # of Arcadian wines and given my palate now, I have an expectation that I will enjoy the wines and be able to form a good opinion. This 2001, knowing what I do about Joe's style, doesn't seem Joe to me.
