94 Points

Tuesday, December 31, 2013 - Extremely tight on opening. Decanted for an hour then re-bottled for half-hour drive to a restaurant for New Years Eve dinner. Opened at the restaurant but not poured immediately while we started with a very nice 2009 Pommard 1er Cru. That was poster-child Burgundy - the color of an eraser and all strawberries. Very nice. The Dubreuil-Fontaine, poured after ~30 minutes, was comparatively dark and tannic. More accessible than the uncorking but still not giving much. Then, after about another 30 minutes, it unfolded. Very lush, beautiful mouthfeel. The aromatics didn't quite match the Pommard but in the mouth this was a 95+ point wine. In the wine's olfactory defense, the restaurant's stemware was crap -- I'll never know how much that affected the experience.

I'm not an expert on aging, but guessing from the decanting experience I'd say this has at least another half decade in it.
