There is an unpleasant heaviness to the wine up front and the finish has a slight metallic tinge to it. I typically enjoy Santa Maria pinot noir (think Byron) but this Au Bon Climat just doesn't do it for me; that's too bad as its winemaker has gained much deserved respect over the years.
