Saturday, March 22, 2014 - The corona showed obvious discolourations, in the core still surprisingly vital; the nose was really earthy, a bit barn stinky, undergrowth, rustic, a bit green and still some typical clear and straight Rousseau fruit characteristics; the taste was very solid and and well developed, a bit rustic and slightly tannin rough – but overall in extremely surprising good shape, good (a bit tart) finish as well, perhaps not the most subtle and complex Gevrey-Chambertin from Rousseau – but (again) really shockingly good and full of life for a 20 year old village from a mostly miserable vintage.
