Friday, April 25, 2014 - This opaque ruby wine was presented in single-blind fashion to our tasting group, with the bottle kindly provided by J.P. Showing moderately intense aromas of cassis, Asian spices, nutmeg and pipe tobacco, it follows with a full-bodied palate of similar flavors. The wine is impressively structured, with medium acidity, firm tannins and well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%). Sturdy in the middle, it concludes with a lengthy, tart finish. Very enjoyable now, this Cabernet may further improve and may ultimately merit a higher score. Drink now-2024.
