5/4/2014 8:31:00 AM - I cannot imagine it was past its prime based on Dominus' track record. I just think this particular bottle was shut down tight, or perhaps even flawed. In rare instances, a wine can be just slightly affected by TCA such that the fruit is stripped, leaving a lifeless bottle, without the telltale cardboard note. Perhaps it was flawed, perhaps shut down, but if you have this in the cellar I think you'll be happy in the end.

5/4/2014 9:17:00 AM - Thanks for the reply. I have a couple of bottles in the basement and have not tried any as of yet. Your analysis seems reasonable and likely that your experience is due to a tainted bottle. Too bad because it's good stuff, or at least should be.
