Wednesday, May 28, 2014 - Immediate cherries, blackberries and anis on the sweet nose. Aromas of jammy stewed dark fruits. Similar palate - jammy and brambley. Seems a bit more Maclaren vale than Eden Valley. Sweet fruit and long finish with sour cherry. Finish lasts over a minute. Very crowd pleasing if a touch sweet. Maybe could use a few more tannins, although the balancing acidity is there under the fruit. Should last a few more years, but I don't think it will evolve much. No real evolution in the decanter except that some of the sweetness disappears and a bit more sour fruit occurs after ca. 3 hours.
