Monday, June 30, 2014 - I’m a big, big fan of Riesling. Probably the most under-appreciated wine in Australia (although there are signs of change). Back label says that the wine received some lees stirring…..interesting.

A pale straw colour in the glass. Not that expressive on the nose - very quiet. Citrus - yes. Maybe some honey? A quick taste - wow. Surprising, given the nose. Evident grapefruit flavours, plus some lime (zest I think, not cordial). Great length - leaves you salivating. Not totally bone dry but not far off - almost austere. Also, there is a dollop of creaminess, most prominent in the middle palate.

A different style of Riesling and better for it (my opinion). Should come with a warning sticker as may offend purists! Will age easily for the next 10 years or so I reckon.
