2011 Sanguis Misfit

Saturday, July 26, 2014 - (Tasted at the winery after a two-hour decant) Our favorite of the tasting and an excellent QPR at $45. Blood red in the glass with a regal robe even the pope would be proud to wear. Floral notes in the bouquet with a brambly quality that pokes in and out. On the palate it pumps out plum, blackberry and anise flavors, followed by more floral notes that echo mountain meadow wildflowers after a summer rain. Incredible purity and spot-on acidity. Serve with food, and then crack open another bottle to serve the guys with cigars on the back patio. Delicious! (Thanks Gabe!)
