Saturday, August 16, 2014 - Drinking really well right now, though potential to improve even more with additional bottle time. Exquisitely balanced wine that somehow amps everything up several notches -- aromas, body, flavors -- without becoming a fruit bomb or jammy mess. The nose of bright cranberry, cherry, raspberry, and lavender leads to rich flavors of juicy plum, berries, cherries, floral hints, and subtle spice. Well balanced throughout with perfect acidity and solid tannins. It is a wine with substance and depth that speaks of the earth from which it was grown, the fog layer of the Central Coast, and the soul of the oak barrels in which it matured. I am a big fan of this wine, and frankly glad that it cannot be tamed or contained with descriptive words.
