Saturday, August 16, 2014 - Afghanistan Greg Dinner with the Crew (Wildfire Chicago): Dinner at Wildfire for Afghanistan Greg with Johnny, Chris, Sylvia and Nicole. Johnny brought this.
Nice red fruit driven wine. Moderate complexity sporting a lot of roasted red vegetal qualities.
Stewed tomatoes and charred red pepper, dirt covered cherries and some pepper spice and a little meat. A bit savory.
A little mocha and a nice dose of quality oak.
Palate is moderate bodied and against the Bevan red fruit all day vs. the other blue berry driven wine.
Very nice complete but at the same time, young bottling. No need to spent three or four times for their main wine.
