Friday, November 14, 2014 - Carpe Vino!; 11/9/2014-11/15/2014 (Tuscany (Florence, Montalcino, Siena)): This wine was in clear competition for WOTN/trip/etc. for me. It was just stunning. It's amazing what some years can do for an Ornellaia (I was also blown away by the '97 a few months ago). Really great black fruit, really great structure, lots of flavors going on and a full evolution in the mouth. I thought this could go for some more years, but it is certainly drinking very well now. Just beautiful wine.
