Wednesday, January 21, 2015 - It's so not my usual, but gotta say I enjoyed it. Drying tannins at the fore after the pour, but 45 min later they'd faded and lovely fruit took over. There was round slightly jammy blueish stuff, and also bright tart reddish stuff, and maybe an allspice note giving it sufficient structure. Really nice blend of serious + simple pleasure; enjoyed this more than some overripe southern Rhones I've encountered in recent years. And it was *perfect* with garlic- and onion-studded lamb burgers.
