Friday, February 6, 2015 - Received as a gift. On the purple side of garnet with some turbidity; nose was hard to decipher but came across as concentrated fruit with slight alcohol. Reddish black fruit with nice complexity from tar and coffee notes, average acidity and a moderate, somewhat spicy finish with light tannins. Moderately full bodied. I have no previous experience with Amarone so cannot judge it from that perspective but this was a nice savory experience.
