Saturday, May 9, 2015 - My bottle was a fake purchased from WTSO. There is no way that the cork that I pulled out of this bottle was anywhere near 10 years old, and the wine was not more than 3-4 years old - maybe younger. That said, it was not an unpleasant young wine. Perhaps the counterfeiters have transitioned from the super high-priced old classics to highly-rated, fairly widely-produced mid-priced wines.

5/13/2015 5:28:00 PM - Same thing happened to me. My first batch from WTSO was very good, seemed totally legit, so I bought a 2nd batch (same vintage). 2nd batch tasted contrived and "fake", cork was brand new. I wrote to WTSO letting them know my experience. They immediately refunded my $, even though that was not my intention. I've since seen this label offered many times.

7/1/2015 5:27:00 PM - Apologies if you're already aware of this, but many Spanish wineries hold back reservas and gran reservas well beyond the minimum required amount of time between harvest and bottling, so a 2001 may only have been bottled, say, in 2011...

7/2/2015 6:22:00 AM - The winery apparently had meaningful issues and did a large scale re-corking. Appears the re-corked bottles have substantial difference from earlier bottles - fyi

Momus - I am aware, maybe 2-3 years in cask or barrel, but not 10.
